WordPress is a durable platform, widely adopted across higher education. But without clear governance, proactive maintenance and strategic oversight, it can slip into technical debt, accessibility risk and inconsistent user experience.

We work with teams who are responsible for platforms that must:

We treat your platform as a long-lived asset, not a one-off project.

WordPress for editorial teams

Teams responsible for faculty, department, communications, research or outreach platforms.

WordPress distributed content

Groups with distributed content production, governance or editorial complexity.

WordPress compliance

Organisations that prioritise digital accessibility, compliance and longevity of platforms.

We’ve delivered successful projects with organisations across the public and academic sectors, including:

Our work with Southampton ranges from a centralised platform for publishing faculty news, through to clinical trial recruitment, alumni and event management, student recruitment and outreach programmes.

Our work supports the University of Surrey’s outreach programmes to foster better outcomes into higher education to under-represented secondary school students. From digital summer schools and book clubs through to 121 mentoring programmes, our digital solutions support staff, students and parents.

We’ve been fortunate to work with three Cambridge colleges at the University by developing their main websites using WordPress, as well as bespoke intranets which integrate with O365 single-sign on for managing access privileges.

Our first project with Liverpool helped support vaccine development and research into Covid-19 back in 2020. Since then we’ve developed other platforms including a pharmacokinetic data sharing platform using WordPress.

Introduced through a partnership research programme, UCL has become an important client of 10 Degrees over the years we’ve been working together. We now manage a suite of eight WordPress websites in various research-based faculties.

  • Accessibility and WCAG compliance: We support platforms aligned with WCAG standards and help teams maintain accessibility as content evolves.
  • WordPress multisite: We work with multisite where it provides genuine governance and editorial benefits, and avoid it where it adds unnecessary complexity.
  • Low-carbon and sustainable development: We consider performance, hosting, and build choices that reduce unnecessary resource use, aligned with institutional sustainability goals.
  • Integrations and system boundaries: We integrate WordPress with wider systems where appropriate, and are clear about where WordPress should and should not be extended.

It has been a great experience collaborating with 10 Degrees along with their level of expertise. They are skilled, reliable, and deliver high-quality work on time. Their attention to detail, clear communication, and problem-solving abilities have made valuable difference in our on-going success. We thoroughly appreciate this on-going partnership.

The 10 Degrees support team is truly exceptional – unlike any other I’ve encountered in the industry. Over the past ten years, they have consistently exceeded their contractual obligations on numerous occasions. Whether it’s taking calls outside of business hours, offering expert advice on peripheral issues beyond their remit, or handling both routine and complex queries with professionalism.

It has been a delight working with 10 Degrees for our website needs. As a small team, we really value having access to regular support for any urgent issues that arise, as well as the maintenance of our site.
