How we helped solve the problem
We looked through their existing content and analytics, talking to their students in focus groups to ask them about the types of features that they would be looking for. Throughout that discovery process, we documented any decisions that we made, writing down all the requirements for the project and making sure all the stakeholders were involved with that process.
We then made sure that everyone involved was on the same page before we actually started any design or build work. That’s a really important part of our project process, and it’s something that we’ve continued to develop. By working closely with those involved it allows us to mitigate any risk to the project, ensuring the client gets exactly what they asked for.
Sometimes, things can change within projects, so it’s important to be agile throughout that process and question earlier decisions if we need to. The discovery process helps us create a clear roadmap on what we’re going to design and how we are going to deliver it.
We used analytics and the results from the student focus groups to pinpoint what content was necessary for their site. To help make things like room booking or event promotion more efficient, we built Clare Hall their first Intranet, we also created an integrated single sign-on solution called Raven, enabling security permissions for content editors.
The ultimate outcome for Clare Hall is an amazing-looking website meeting all the performance metrics needed for SEO. Their web vitals security is hooked into their single sign-on solution. We were able to finish this project on time and within budget.
We had to design the best possible WordPress site based on the content they already had. We audited their site and cut the content down considerably, focussing only on the key pages; working with the students and staff to build a site that would be useful to everyone involved.Jonny Vaughan
Why we offer our clients an ongoing support package
We want to build long-term relationships with our clients which is why we offer all of our higher education and enterprise clients continued ongoing support. We always recommend a support maintenance package with the sites that we build – we are an agency that believes in maintaining and updating sites rather than building new ones every 4 – 5 years. That way, we can support them long term, flagging and fixing any issues that arise as well as continued design support.
We also help them focus on the content by looking at their analytics and heat mapping to determine whether content is working – reorganising their websites and supporting them with any feature development work as well.
