10 Degrees is a software development agency specialising in WordPress development, based in Wokingham Berkshire. The business was founded in 2009 by our director, Jonny, originally working as a freelancer. Our first team member joined in 2014 and we have seen steady growth ever since.

We are software developers that specialise in custom design and development of WordPress themes, plugins, and bespoke functional builds.

About the role

We’re looking for a Talent & Culture Manager to join our web development agency in Wokingham.

We’re a small, but growing, team looking for someone to take the lead with our talent acquisition & retention, culture management and organisational structure planning. As a small business, this will also include some general HR management and admin, so needs to be someone willing to get stuck in and roll their sleeves up.

This is an unusual role for a company of our size, but we recognise the importance of attracting and retaining quality talent for the long-term success of our business.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Proactive talent acquisition & retention planning
  • Promoting and supporting the physical and mental wellbeing of our team
  • Ensuring our company values are fully embedded into our business life
  • Help guide our business processes to ensure they drive a positive cultural environment
  • Learning & development
  • Team organisational structure and planning
  • Ensure a high level of employee engagement and satisfaction by measuring, reviewing and determining plans to improve
  • Management of our recruitment process and employee onboarding experience
  • General HR admin activities and policy writing
  • Ensure 10 Degrees adheres to regulatory and legal employment obligations

This role is ideally full time, however we may be able to offer flexible or part time hours for the right person. The role is permanent and based in our office in Wokingham.

About you

You are an HR professional with a proven track record in a HR generalist environment (min 5 years) and a specific interest in culture development and mental wellbeing. You have experience (min 2 years) of talent acquisition or in-house recruitment and are very confident about writing job specs, interviewing and conducting candidate checks.

You ideally have experience in change management and policy creation. You are someone who keeps abreast of HR and employee wellbeing developments through CIPD membership (or equivalent) and proactive self-learning.

You are proactive and enthusiastic about the challenge of carving out and embedding a brand new role within our business and being a key part of our growth journey. You ideally have experience working in a technical development / digital / or creative agency type environment or working in small/medium sized businesses.

  • Competitive industry salary of £30,000- £40,000, subject to experience.
